ITT Renews Emphasis on Alternative Fuels
06/16/09
VALENCIA, Calif., - June 16, 2009 – Responding to energy industry studies that show petroleum prices continuing to climb steadily in the future, ITT Corporation today announced a renewed emphasis on providing governments and businesses around the globe with leading-edge technologies designed to reduce their dependence on oil-based fuels.
“The need for greater energy efficiency is one that’s only going to grow more acute in the years to come,” said Jim Dauw, president of ITT’s Control Technologies business. “The current uncertainty of the global economy has resulted in wildly fluctuating energy prices, but long-term trends indicate these costs are definitely going to rise. At ITT, we have the capability to offer our customers a wide range of innovative products based on alternative fuel sources, such as environmentally friendly compressed natural gas (CNG) regulators. Over time, these products have earned a reputation for world-class reliability and performance in the most demanding applications.”
An example of this innovation comes from ITT Conoflow, a unit of ITT. For more than a generation, it has supplied bus, truck and auto manufacturers with compressed natural gas regulators that are used in systems to convert vehicles to operate either exclusively on CNG or on a “dual-fuel” combination with petrol or diesel.
“Long before energy efficiency was the issue it is today, we were leading the way in this field,” said Steve Piluk, product manager for Alternative Fuels, ITT Conoflow. “We are now regarded as a ‘best-in-class’ provider for compressed natural gas regulators for heavy-duty engine applications – those that are 5.0 liters or larger in size.”
ITT Conoflow also supplies these regulators to system developers and providers, such as Advanced Fuels Technology Pty., Ltd. (AFT), based in Melbourne, Australia, and FAB Industries, located in Anniston, Ala. The former supports the alternative fuels industry throughout Australia and Southeast Asia, while the latter is North America’s largest supplier of alternative fuel systems and infrastructure for transit bus, medium duty trucks and refuse truck manufacturers.
Recently, AFT used ITT Conoflow’s HPNGV Series CNG Regulator when installing dedicated CNG systems in a fleet of Iveco refuse trucks, as well as Mack concrete trucks, thereby reducing the vehicles’ fuel costs and lowering critical greenhouse-gas emissions.
Likewise, FAB Industries routinely incorporates ITT Conoflow’s HPNGV Series Heavy Duty CNG Regulator when providing alternative fuel systems for mass transit buses, which represent one of the company’s main focuses.
“The fleets have been satisfied with the benefits they’ve seen from switching their vehicles to a dedicated CNG system – benefits that would not have been possible without ITT Conoflow’s contributions,” said Ron Eickelman, president of FAB Industries.
Added Sean Blythe, CEO of AFT: “ITT Conoflow’s technology has played a key role in the technical reputation of our business. We are proud to have forged such a long and mutually fulfilling partnership.”

Extended consumable life by using new Spirit style consumables
ProLine/FineLine Torch Consumables Upgrade
07/02/07
CHARLESTON, SC – JULY 2, 2007 – Our highly successful Spirit(a) products incorporate a number of significant new features that add up to the process technology we have trademarked as Hafnium Optimizing Technology - HfOTTM. This technology provides significantly improved consumable life over previous KALIBURN systems and especially over competitive systems.
We have found it possible to incorporate one of those new features for cutting at 100amps or greater in both new and existing ProLine systems and many recent FineLine systems. Effective immediately, torch consumables listed for use with Spirit systems are recommended for use with all ProLine systems and with FineLine systems manufactured since January of 2006. New cutting charts can be downloaded from our website and a new Automatic Gas Console (AGC) program with revised cut charts can be obtained by contacting Technical Support (843) 795-4286. While use of these new Spirit consumables on ProLine and specified FineLine systems will not duplicate the extraordinary consumable life achieved with Spirit systems, their use will provide a significant improvement over the originally specified consumables.
It should be noted that old style and new style consumables cannot be mixed but should be used just like the new cutting charts indicate. We will exchange unused ProLine style consumables for the new Spirit style consumables. As we will be phasing out the old style parts, it would be wise to order only sufficient old style parts such as mate with your existing inventory of other old style parts. Call KALIBURN today to answer any questions regarding the use of or ordering of these new consumables for ProLine and FineLine systems, or requests for return authorization of old style consumables.

INNERLOGIC UNVEILS NEW NAME, NEW CORPORATE IDENTITY
Company is reborn as KALIBURN
9/25/06
CHARLESTON, SC – SEPTEMBER 25, 2006 – On the heels of the company’s unprecedented growth and compelling
innovations in the plasma cutting industry, InnerLogic, Inc. unveils a new corporate identity, complete
with a new name, logo and tagline. The company is now KALIBURN, with the tagline, “Plasma Cutting Innovation.”
This strategic move represents a significant milestone in its history and is symbolic of a company that is
changing the landscape of the plasma cutting industry.
"Our new name and corporate branding amplify the qualities this company has possessed since its founding in 1985,
and capture the spirit and energy that drive this company today and every day," commented KALIBURN President Steven F. Hardwick.
"Changing a company name and logo that is well-known throughout the industry is a big risk, but one we feel confident will pay off for our company and our customers," he added.
New Name & Logo Inspired By Legends of Excalibur
The elements of the new name and logo are consistent with KALIBURN’s values and corporate image. Combining the essence of
powerful words and a unique symbol, the KALIBURN corporate identity builds on the company’s rich heritage of excellence and
signals a new and exciting future. The name is derived primarily from "Caliburn," the name of King Arthur’s sword, which
symbolizes the power, strength and confidence of the legends of Excalibur (a romanticized version of the word adopted over time)
and how the company approaches its business every day.
"It is believed that the name ‘Caliburn’ is rooted in the Latin word ‘chalybs’, meaning ‘steel’, which is another reason
this new name is so fitting for our company," explained Hardwick. Additionally, “BURN” represents the high temperature
and intensity of a plasma torch, as well as the passion KALIBURN and its employees dedicate to its products and customers.
From the sword and banner icon symbolizing precision cut, to the bold colors, the new logo unites a corporate vision with a graphic identity.
With an anticipated new product launch, the unveiling of the new name and logo illustrates the company’s strategic vision of
advancing cutting system technology. "We felt that the time had come to change our name and look to keep up with all of
the great advancements we’re making," Hardwick said. "This is the perfect time because we’re entering a new era for
our company and introducing an exciting new product at the FABTECH/AWS tradeshow in Atlanta later this year."
Established in 1985, KALIBURN has flourished from a producer of torch height control products into an industry leading
manufacturer of plasma cutting systems. Headquartered in Charleston, SC, the company is committed to delivering innovative,
reliable products backed by unprecedented customer service and product warranties. Through its significant growth and
product advancements, the company continues to evolve and maintain its leadership position in the plasma cutting industry.
