INOVA Torch Height Control
With INOVA, There’s No Question Who’s in Control
With the INOVA plasma cutting torch height control system, you can program more functions, set tighter parameters, get better resolution and maximize plasma consumable life. The INOVA plasma torch height control reduces cycle time and gives you a more accurate cut. It is the most versatile plasma cutting torch height control yet. And you can use it on any plasma cutting system.
INOVA is precisely what you need.
We've given the INOVA torch height control a microcontroller with 35 programmable functions and interfacing for 8 torch stations. Program as few as 3 functions (pierce height, cutting height, and arc voltage) and you’re up and running. You get precision and stability for all plasma arc cutting, especially high current density, precision plasma cutting applications. It has a state of the art anti-collision system to protect the torch. It also has an optional operator's remote control with touch screen to give you greater flexibility.
Easy to Program
A microcontroller provides more programmable plasma torch functions, including:
- Arc voltage - 50 to 250 volts in .1 volt increments
- Manual travel speed
- Plate sensing speed during initial pierce height setting (IHS)
- Adjustable plate touch force during IHS (touch force method is used as a backup to soft-touch ohmic contact method)
- Pierce height - Aids in torch consumable life
- Cutting height (torch moves to the cutting height after the pierce time is complete but before the arc voltage control (AVC) mode is activated
- Pierce time (time before the torch moves to the cutting height)
- Partial raise height (retract distance from the last cutting height)
- Torch retract delay
- Corner AVC disable (prevents torch diving during corners)
- AVC delay (delay time from the removal of a corner AVC disable signal and the resumption of arc voltage control)
- High to low speed crossover point during IHS
- Cycle complete signal
- Plasma gas pre-flow during IHS - on/off
- Clear-the-plate (ohmic plate sense) - on/off
- Arc voltage limiter - on/off
- Automatic collision avoidance - on/off
- Adjustable gain
- IHS test/run (test the initial pierce height without starting the plasma torch)
Works Harder and Faster
INOVA plasma torch height control gives you high speed for positioning and the highest speeds practical for plasma cutting. You can produce more cut pieces per hour by saving several seconds on each cut with the automatic gas initiator, which allows torch positioning and plasma gas preflow to occur simultaneously. You can also reduce cycle time between cuts by reducing torch retraction height with the programmable partial raise feature. The INOVA torch height positioner weighs pounds less than the others, so it reduces x/y machine loads. At speeds up to 600 inches per minute, it also travels faster.
INOVA - The Smartest Way to Cut it
All of INOVA's features work together to make selecting the INOVA plasma cutting torch height control the best choice. You get a smart machine that gives better cut quality and saves you time and effort. Fewer components make INOVA easier to install and maintain than other torch height controls, too. INOVA also comes with the reliability, precision, and performance you'd expect from KALIBURN. So whether you're ordering a new plasma cutting system or upgrading your current one, ask for INOVA.
Features:
Arc Voltage Control
- DSP servo system is the most advanced voltage control available. Maintains arc voltage with the highest degree of accuracy: +/- .4 volts
- Arc voltage setting in .1 volt increments
- Responds at speed up to 600 inches per minute
- Rapid response means arc voltage control available for low, intermediate, or high speed plasma arc cutting
Initial Torch Height Positioning
- Patented plate sensing technique requires no external switches or devices
- Soft-touch ohmic contact plate sensing works on all plate thicknesses
- Manual positioning if automatic pierce height positioning is not desired
Programmable Partial Raise
- Allows retraction distance to be set between 0 inches and full raise
- Improves cycle time and output
Automatic Gas Initiator
- Starts plasma preflow gas simultaneously with IHS sequence
- Saves several seconds on each cut, allowing more cuts per hour
Arc Voltage Control Limiter
- Helps prevent torch damage during kerf crossing
Corner Height Freeze
- Disables arc voltage control while cutting
- Prevents the torch from diving into the work piece during corners or when initially piercing heavy plate
Cycle Complete Signal
- Alerts the x/y machine controller when the plasma torch has been fully retracted
Retraction Delay
- Programmable plasma torch retract delay time allows current and gas slope down to occur before retracting the torch at the end of a cut, extending electrode life
- Automatic collision avoidance - on/off
- Adjustable gain
- IHS test/run (test the initial pierce height without starting the plasma welding torch)
X/Y Partial Raise Enable/Disable Signal
- Can be used to return the torch height to the upper limit switch for long x/y machine traverses
RS-422 Serial Communication Link
- Allows full torch control from x/y machine controller
- 8 torch stations can be installed on a single network
Finer Resolution
- INOVA gives you a position height control with an encoder resolution of .0001 inch and an arc voltage setting resolution of .1 volt. This precise setting gives you unparalleled control over your cut, with the smallest cut angle, kerf width, and face variation.
